Operation

Tablets or capsules are placed in the hopper. The vibratory scroll feeder aligns the product before it passes through the counting head. When the product count is reached, a flap mechanism diverts the tablet flow into the next container.

COVISS® is a high speed online inspection-system developed by COUNTEC for tablet and capsule counting and filling machines. It makes sure, that each tablet or capsule is con-trolled before being counted. The system checks for deviations in colour and shape and is able to detect broken tablets and fragments. New machines can be equipped with that System, but it can also be retrofit to existing ones. Compared to other manufacturer's systems the COVISS® is very compact and the system is easily set by means of it's unique Auto-Teaching Feature.

Depending on the running speed, the system can detect:

Visual Inspektion:
By means of the Auto Teaching-feature the setting only takes approx. 5 minutes, the data collection is automatic.

• Analysis - Calibration and determination of the acceptance criteria in respect of colour, shape and dimension of the tablets or capsules during the Auto-Teaching process.
  
• Registration- Each tablet/capsule is being. registered.
  
• Inspection - Each tablet/capsule is being assessed in respect of dimensions and coloration.
  
• Rejection - based on the result of the inspection it will be decided, whether a product needs to be rejected.

The system is able to create a report.

Rejection:
COVISS® offers the alternative of stopping the machine to allow the operator to remove the object in question manually. For simplification, the COVISS® is automatically lifted upwards. An acoustic alarm signal is created and also a message on the display. Alternatively, the machine automatically rejects the bottle, which contains the faulty object.

The tablet and capsule counting machines DMC-60 und DMC-120 can be supplied with a Tare/Gross-Weigh system. Prior to the filling, each container is weighed to determine the tare weight. After filling, the container is weighed again in order to determine the gross weight. Then the system calculates the net weight and compares the result with the target weight. If the result lies outside the set acceptance tresholds of the target weight, the bottle will be rejected.

The design of the weigh stations is very compact. High glass weigh cells made by Wipotec are being used. A smooth servo driven transfer moves the onto the weigh cells.

Dependend on the specifications there are are weigh cells for 3 different ranges available:

DMC-200
A very precise high speed counting and filling machine with 4 independently operating feeding and counting modules, each comprising 3 linear vibrators with 4 feeding lanes.

The machine is equipped with the latest infrared sensor electronics and operates with a 2 step reservoir system.

A scrollsystem ensures a rapid and smooth transfer of the empty bottles to the filling stations and of the filled bottles away from it.

Toolless dismantling of all parts in contact with the product for cleaning and changeover and equally quick assembly is another advantage.

The machinedesign is very compact and allows a space saving positioning of the DMC-200 .
